Mon Avous

This EVP was captured during the Marjim Manor investigation.

Mon Avous ?

As the investigators left the hall where they had been working in order to more closely determine an unidentified event (a floating orb-like object, which turned out to be merely the reflection of a passing car's lights against the glass globe of an overhead light fixture in the next room) this EVP was captured in the empty room by the DAT mike which had been set up previously.

EVP: "My love"

What is interesting is that previously, the sensitive had 'picked up' a definite feeling of something having to do with 'french men'. While we do not speak French, and the remark does not fit Parisian French conventions in either speech patterns or slang, we recognize that we may be listening to either French Canadian speech, or speech from a previous era.

Loosely translated as best as we can currently make out, it says "My" or "Me", and "Avous" which loosely translates to "with" or a form of the word 'you'.   It could be saying 'with me' or even 'me and you'.

The second voice seems to be female, responding with 'my love'.

Since the conversation does not correspond with questions that we had been asking, nor remarking on our conversations or activities, this could indicate that we actually recorded a part of a residual haunting: A haunting or 'playback' of an event that occurred in the past and which plays back at certain times.  This may be one of the first recordings S.P.I.R.I.T. has captured of a residual haunting.

Currently we are researching historical records and other sources to try to determine who the speakers might be.

An interesting note: The loud "click" that is heard previous to the second EVP may be what is known as a 'precursor noise'.

Research is being done on precursor noises, as many EVPs are heard after this type of noise is detected.  What is the noise? It was not noticed as being something that the researchers had done, and it is occurring in the empty hall and not in the next room where we were talking.
