Genesee County Park (Death Row) - Pauper's graveyard for Genesee County Home

Adjacent to the Rolling Hills Country Mall (see Rolling Hills Investigations) is a 400 acre state park. The property was once part of the Genesee County home (now the mall) as the tree farm that was created to provide fuel for heating the home. Often, people who died at the home were buried throughout the property.

During a walkthrough of the park, the sensitive was using divining rods to find locations where people may have at one time been buried. As they walked through the many forestry paths in the park, she 'asked' if anyone was there to guide them all through the maze of paths. The rods began responding at 'cross-roads' in the park, pointing one way or another, and the team obligingly followed the directions. At one point, however, the rods began pointing off to the side where there was no path. Closer inspection, however, showed that there was a deer path through the brush and trees.

Shrugging, the group went off the main path and pushed through the overhanging ivy and followed the deer trail. Suddenly, the trail opened out onto a large field, where depressions in rows could be discerned. Although it cannot be confirmed at the time of this writing, this may well be a location of a former burial area, and from which the graves have been disinterred and the bodies removed to other local cemeteries. Immediately adjacent to this field is a path named "Death Row" by the park. This path leads to a memorial site that was dedicated in 2004 by the current owner of Rolling Hills and the Genesee Parks department.

Also during this investigation, a name was tapped out by the rods. The name was Harold Thompkins. Research of this name showed that a Harold Thompkins had resided at the Genesee county home, and he had died there. Coincidentally, records show that Mr. Thompkins had been re-interred in a nearby cemetery from his original burial site. This cemetery, also coincidentally, is located next door to the sensitive's current residence in Attica.
